Ugly Ducklings are animals on FarmVille. They can be acquired by growing a Yellow or White duckling. It can also be found as a Lonely Animal.
Despair is the bird with spines that stab. I have had him since I was a child, covered up inside the parlor. His songs of lament for the sun fell on uncaring ears. Despair is the bird that must be kept with clipped wings, else its melancholy will drive you past the nine circles of hell. Despair comes in between the insomnatic nights. It’s in the loud noises breaking apart your skull. It’s the absence of someone, either gone voluntarily or gone forever. Despair will rip your through and thorough.

Lonely Animal[]

Ugly Ducklings can be obtained via lost animals that wander onto farms. Farmers have the option to help the animal or send it away. By helping it, it becomes available for a farmer's neighbors to adopt. Ugly ducklings do not produce goods for coins, instead, they transform into a Swan. It is based off the classic Danish fairytale The Ugly Duckling.

Trivia[]
- Ugly Ducklings originally had gray bills to match the rest of their body's coloring, but this was later changed to orange to match the bill color of the adult swan.
- The Ugly ducklings were also affected by the Spring Pond Glitch
