I tryed few days ago to change wiki background picture but for some reason it did not worked. Please replace curent picture with http://farmville.wikia.com/wiki/File:Wiki-background.jpeg. As you will notice I uploaded jpg and jpeg version of same file but both of them are not showing up as background.
As you may notice Vandraedha enable new badges for all animal pens so since for now all icons look same can you make some new pics, if you have any ides... Also quest track have default pics so if you have any idea change it so that us wiki become more unique!
Hi! Long time no see... Finally this wiki is in right mood with background. I am delighted with new background, baner and entire theme!
I am not sure do you still play FV and do you know what event missing or at least baners for them. As you may notice Rose are no longer editing on wiki daily so events are outdated. I am trying to other non-event items be updated- new buildings, new farm, raffle booth games, quests but I have limited time available. Vandraedha do good job with templates and all other stuffs that make this wiki good but we have problems with event editors...
With this amount of job global wiki team should gave us all paychecks!!!
Hello again! Yeah, truly, long time no see. Life has been busy for me, especially with my studies, and I haven't had much time to go online. I'm glad you like the new theme, and I'm actually really sorry for not being to update them in the past few months.
I'll try my best to keep up with the latest banners if I could have some free time. :)
Great job with keeping the wiki up, and thanks for all your awesome work as well!
I put the gaming wikis footer back on the main page because otherwise we would be removed from it (and we need all the traffic we can get to attract new editors). You may want to discuss modifying, or splitting it into a separate template, on the template's talk page.
Personally, I think there are enough Zynga game wikis to make up a new footer on wiki central just for Zynga games... but I don't know how the other wikis feel about it.
Since I work on quests a lot now I saw that quest nav is out of date. What do you think to replace all individual quest icons with 1 icon for entire serie? Quest icon should be from last quest in serie, with highest number. Link should lead to quest serie page. I will make that kind of pages for all hawaii (almost over), winter wonderland and maybe even lighthousecove quest series to bypass multiple bonus quest 1,2,3 mistakes.
Separation on nav should be farm quests (each extra farm have subgroup and icons of all quest series pages) and theme quests that can be played on all farms (separation by year and sorted up by start date).
Vandraedha told me to contact you with this idea since you are versed in icons, links and templates. I started to add quest series by date in table on Quest page and I think that there is around 50 series so I think that this is enough icons for Nav. Hundreds icons in Nav make mess. Less is better! Or not?! :-)
I was thinking again about some new badge tracks. Since I am not sure how some page count to specific track, like event, stub or so I will present my idea for 2 new tracks.
First track will be for ALL animals ,trees and crops together. Since preload automatic add these 3 categories they will count from start. Every edit on this type of should count on old edit track and on this new.
Second track will be for ALL decorations and buildings.
Since there is only around 10-15 quest series that did not entered I can not see how someone can to have over 100 edits on these pages. Since events, countdowns and quests have animals, decorations and trees 2 different tracks would count for all users.
This all would be nice if is possible to different categories count to same track. Is that even possible? Like Rose said before you are a graphic guru so I guess that you will think some nice badges for those categories :-)
Since we recently switched to series instead separate quests I think that badge for creating quests do not have purpose. I think that bigger problem is lack of pages for quest animals, trees, decorations and buildings. Different badges for all would be helpful, a saw something similar on Pioneer Trail Wiki.
Now creating quest series page takes about hour or more and all info is available. But for reward items data start to lose after some time and become hard or impossible to be found.
Okay, we'll pretty much need to have "Categories" for the idea you have. What I mean is something like, "Category:Quests Trees", "Category:Quests Animals" since that's what is needed to have other Badge Tracks. I guess you're right that we should write an article first about how to collect quests. I'll see what I can do.
Just looking it. Looks GREAT! Maybe to copy all badge picture and names with points on page? Also some badges are repeating like edits, pics, events and some other not like write blog, say hi to someone, add user page. And there is 3rd group secret badges, like lucky edit, pounce and cafeinated.
I saw what I was talk about quests... well see with V, but I think that animal, tree and other pages should count for all animals, trees or so. Well... we will see how all this will work out. Maybe link to all about badge page should be at the bottom under all users badges so it can be easy reached for new users. It's to much complex for me but I am sure that you will figure out something!
Nice job! I try something with edit track badges, tell me what you think about new look out. Second, I added repeating for that badge, how offten and how much points gain every badge. For most badges I was not sure how much points I will get when I was young editor.
I know that adding link is most likely impossible but I am hoping that V. and Rose will help us with finding best and easiest way to present it to new users.
Okay, so I liked your change to the events on the Main page so much I had to use the Tabview tag elsewhere... and I noticed that the tabs were a little large, so I went looking for how to customize them... I added the needed info to the CSS, but I ran out of time before I could figure out how to change the padding and colors from the default to something that would match the existing styles on this wiki. If you feel like messing with the colors and such so that they match the wiki style, go for it. Otherwise I will try to set it the next time I edit this wiki.
I'm glad you liked it! :) I know CSS when it comes to other sites like blogs and stuff, but I'm a little bit confused with Wikia CSS. I've tried to change it a bit but maybe you can change it again since I'm not too good at it. Haha. Thanks!
