The Animal Trough was a building previously available in FarmVille. It was introduced on October 27th, 2010 and was retired on August 17th 2011. Farmers were to fill up their trough with Animal Feed in order to attract wandering animals that they could adopt. It required 20 Animal Feed to be able to attract an animal, which would appear within a time period of up to 24 hours. Adoptable animals included:
ID | Picture | Animal | Close-up |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Poncho Llama1 | ||
2 | Black Horse1 | ||
3 | Black Sheep1 | ||
4 | Longhorn Cow1 | ||
5 | Pink Pot Belly Pig1 | ||
6 | Rhode Island Red Chicken1 | ||
7 | White Turkey1 | ||
8 | Reindeer1 | ||
9 | Elephant1 | ||
10 | Yellow Sow1 |
Once an animal was adopted, the Animal Feed count would reset itself, and you had to restock your building with Animal Feed to be able to attract the next animal.
You could also 'feed' your neighbor's Animal Troughs, where there was a chance of finding two extra scoops for yourself. You could choose to share them as well. You could have also found the same animal again in your Animal Trough.
When a new animal became available, an old animal became unavailable.
On August 17th, 2011, The Animal Trough was discontinued from FarmVille, and once players clicked on their Animal Trough they will be given a free Reindeer and 5 scoops of Animal Feed for the new Wildlife Habitat building, and the Animal Trough will be removed from their farm.
