The Biplane is an item in FarmVille that will instantly grow a farmer's entire crop. It can be either purchased from the market, for 30,000 coins, or obtained as a prize, for the gold medal, in the Peanut Butter Jelly co-op. The co-op prize Biplane does give farmers an additional instant harvest use.
The first use of the Biplane tool is free, after that it costs FarmVille Cash to operate it. Cost to use the Biplane depends both on the crop and how long the crop still has to grow. The first night of release, it was noted some users weren't receiving the free use after purchasing it. This has been fixed.
In a june 6, 2010 article on FarmVilleFreak it was speculated that the cost of a flight can be calculated as follows:
- 2000 first hours = 1 FV$
- +1 FV$ for every additional 1000 hours.
Use 24 hours for 1 day, not the 23 hours Zynga usually uses.
Example: 100 plots of watermelons = 9600 hours = 9 FV$. If they are 50% ready it’ll be 4800 hours= 4FV$
The exact formula would be: (X*H*P)/1000-1= # FarmVille Cash in which:
- X = Number of plots
- H = Grow time of the crop in hours (e.g. Carrots=12, Watermelons=96, Peas=24, etc.)
- P = (100-percentage of the crop)/100.
This means: if a crop is 50% ready P= (100-50)/100=0.5 If the crop is freshly planted, P=1. If a crop is at 90% ready, P=0,1
