The Biplane is an item in FarmVille that willantly grow a farmer's entire crop. It can be either purchased from the market, for 30,000 coins, or obtained as a prize, for the gold medal, in the Peanut Butter Jelly co-op.
The first use of the Biplane tool is free (and do note: this is for the tool, so buying another plane does not get you another free flight!). After that it will cost FarmVille Cash to operate it. Cost to use the Biplane depends both on the number of plots and how long the crop still has to grow. The first night of release, it was noted some users weren't receiving the free use after purchasing it. This has been fixed.
As of November 12, 2010, Farmers' can use the Biplane to instantly grow their trees.
As of July 28th, 2011, Farmers' can use the Biplane to instantly ready their animals.
But even without the biplane you can now instantly grow your crops.

In a July 12, 2010 article on FarmVilleFreak it was speculated that the cost of a flight can be calculated as follows:
- 570 first hours = 1 FV$
- +1 FV$ for every additional ~290 hours (it seems that FV has varied the cost slightly per hour so the exact cost cannot be calculated)
Use 24 hours for 1 day, not the 23 hours Zynga usually uses.
The formula to approximate the FV$ cost would be: ((X*H*P)-570)/290+1 = # FarmVille Cash
in which:
- X = Number of plots
- H = Grow time of the crop in hours (e.g. Carrots=12, Watermelons=96, Peas=24, etc.)
- P = (100-percentage of the crop)/100.
This means: if a crop is 50% ready P= (100-50)/100=0.5 If the crop is freshly planted, P=1. If a crop is at 90% ready, P=0.1
Zynga has changed the formula several times now and this no longer appears to be correct though only the multipliers have likely changed (570 and 290).
